Fine Dining: Joseph Brunner, Mezzaluna

Joseph Brunner

Joseph Brunner, Co-owner and Executive Chef of Mezzaluna, started in the restaurant industry back in high school where he worked at a local Mexican restaurant as a busboy and dishwasher. Little did he know, this job would spark his interest in cooking professionally, leading him to co-own Mezzaluna alongside Taylor Snelling.

“The Fargo-Moorhead area is special to me because this is where I have grown up. I learned most of what I’ve known about food while living here, learning through others and my family’s cooking. Taking what I’ve learned and giving back to the community in ways of our food and our service is special,” Brunner said.

Mezzaluna is an upscale eatery that offers regionally inspired dishes, creative cocktails and a focused wine list. In addition to the excellent food, they strive to build an atmosphere to create memories.

“Many of my favorite memories growing up have been centered around a dinner table. It is important to us that we can create that environment for our guests to experience,” Brunner said.
