People who frequently travel via plane can now enroll in the Transportation Security Administration’s TSA Pre✓® program July 9-13 at Hector International Airport.

The TSA Pre✓® program is an expedited screening program that helps known low-risk air travelers enjoy a more efficient experience. Participants can use dedicated pre-check lanes at participating airports, and they don’t need to remove their shoes, liquids, laptops, light outerwear or belts.

Millions of people have enrolled in the program at more than 200 airports and 53 airlines across the country.

Shawn Dobberstein, executive director of Fargo Municipal Airport Authority, said the TSA Pre✓® is a time saver for travelers.

“People who fly domestically more than once a year should consider enrolling in the program and take advantage of this week-long opportunity to sign up in Fargo, rather than go through the hassle of scheduling an appointment months in advance in another city,” he added.

Appointments are available July 9-13 from 8 a.m. – noon and 1-5 p.m. in the airport conference room on the second floor of the passenger terminal.

Applicants must bring proof of identity and U.S. citizen documentation, like a U.S. passport, birth certificate or driver’s license. Fingerprints will be collected at the appointment for a background check. The application fee is $85 for five years and can be paid by credit card, money order, company check or certified/cashier’s check. No cash or personal checks.

You can make appointments in advance here. For more information on the TSA Pre✓® program or to view participating airports and airlines, click here.
