Face Of Fine Dining: Taylor Snelling, Mezzaluna

Written by: Fargo Inc Staff

Mezzaluna is an upscale eatery in downtown Fargo. Built in 1917 as the Smith, Follett & Crowl office and warehouse, the building’s historical features have been preserved creating the perfect atmosphere for the eclectic ambiance of Mezzaluna. Taylor Snelling began his journey at Mezzaluna in 2014 as a server, just a couple of years after the restaurant was founded. Snelling showed great promise, and just over a year later, he was promoted to General Manager. His notable hospitality, work ethic, and leadership eventually led him and his wife to purchase the restaurant.

“I’m a big dreamer,” says Snelling, who is now the restaurant owner with his wife and executive chef, Joseph Brunner. “As soon as I started hitting different career milestones, my dreams kept getting bigger.” Snelling isn’t one to take all the credit, however; he believes success is built as a team. To paraphrase Steve Jobs, Snelling believes great things in business aren’t achieved alone; they are done as a team. To Snelling, all of that begins with creating a stable, fun, and creative work environment. In turn, he believes that helps create the warm hospitality and presence Mezzaluna is known for.
