Q: What are you trying to achieve with your company?

A: I believe in business leaders. As a speaker, trainer, and coach, I strive to help leaders achieve their goals in half the time with increased joy and wellbeing. The why behind that is when business leaders win, they are in a position to make our world a better place for everyone.

Q: How did your company come to be?

A: That’s quite a story! The short answer is I believe God told me to do this. If someone wants the longer story they should take me out for coffee!

Q: Why did you join the Dakota Business Lending cohort?

A: There are three key reasons: 1) the office spot is in a great location; 2) the community of entrepreneurs it creates; and 3) the increased awareness it allows me in our community.

Q: What has your experience been like with the cohort so far?

A: It has been great! The reasons I joined have all been met. I also have benefited from using the beautiful conference room at Dakota Business Lending to host a quarterly strategic planning session for other entrepreneurs and small business owners.

I’m a lover! I love my wife of 36 years and four adult children. I love learning. I love good local food and coffee. I love sports, especially football. I love traveling. And at the core of who I am, I love Jesus. People are also very interested to know I was a pastor for 23 years before starting my new career in coaching for business leaders. We are in the middle of a mental health crisis and the C-suite, entrepreneurs, and small business owners aren’t exempt. Mental Fitness Guy helps these leaders train their brains to eliminate the negative thoughts and emotions that sabotage their success and happiness. We do this through inspiring keynotes, interactive training workshops, and one-on-one coaching.”

Q: What is the five-year plan for your business?

A: My five-year plan is to empower 10,000 c-suite leaders, business owners, and entrepreneurs by training them to eliminate the negative thoughts and emotions that sabotage their success and happiness. This positions them to use their influence to make our world a better place for themselves, their families, their employees, their customers, and their causes.

Q: Can you describe a challenge your company has faced, and how you overcame it?

A: The transition from pastor to business coach created a huge credibility challenge. I overcame it by getting coaching certifications with Business Made Simple (2020) and Positive Intelligence (2022), taking advantage of many resources for entrepreneurs in Fargo, and building my own mental fitness to face the challenges with resilience and a growth mindset.

A: I’m very excited about Mental Fitness coaching because it practically helps business leaders address the mental health crisis so many people are facing today. The simple Mental Fitness Operating System that I help them install for themselves and others on their team provides a real return on investment in performance, wellness, and improved team dynamics. .

Q: What has been the most rewarding part of running your business?

A: Meeting and serving incredible people who want to be great at what they do as business leaders.
