Fluid Interiors is Reimagining the Modern Workplace

Written by: Brady Drake

The office is no longer just a place to clock in- it’s a destination. A gathering point. A catalyst for Innovation and connection. And in Fargo, the newly refreshed studio of Fluid Interiors is showing what the future of the workplace can truly look like.

Formerly known as Christianson’s Business Furniture, Fluid’s Fargo team has been embedded in the local business landscape for over 30 years. In 2023, they joined forces with Minneapolis-based Fluid Interiors, a Best-In-Class Haworth furniture solutions partner, marking the start of an exciting new chapter. While the name has changed, the team’s commitment to the relationships, service, and values that built their legacy remains strong-now backed by broader resources, expanded capabilities, and a shared vision for the future of work.

“We’re the same trusted people,” said Roger Christianson, Regional Market President at Fluid. “But now we have more resources, more support, and more ways to bring value to our clients.”

Throughout these changes, the core Fargo-based team has remained intact-still serving clients with the same commitment, expertise, and local insight that earned Christianson’s its trusted reputation.

A Refresh. Rooted in Purpose.

The centerpiece of this evolution is Fluid’s newly remodeled Fargo studio. Far from a cosmetic update, the transformation was designed to model the way modern work actually happens-and to reflect the philosophies behind Fluid’s approach to client spaces.

“We approached our own space the same way we would a client project-not chasing design trends but creating a space that reflects the new work landscape,” said Rosa Brandt, Design Relationship Manager at Fluid.

A key feature of the remodel? Reuse. Nearly 85% of the original furniture was repurposed!

The space now showcases collaborative zones, dedicated focus areas, hospitality-inspired details, and adaptive layouts-all guided by Haworth’s five themes for the future of work.

Designing for the Future.

5 Themes in Action.

1. Immersive  Technology

Hybrid work demands seamless tech. The studio now includes large monitors with built-in cameras and microphones, as well as ambient music and lighting controls- integrating digital tools in a way that feels intuitive and human-centered.

2. More Collaboration

Recognizing that in-person time is precious, Fluid added spaces to support both planned and spontaneous collaboration: a large conference and hosting space, a smaller huddle room, and café-style lounge areas.

3. Focus to Restore

Work isn’t just about hustle-it’s about recovery, too. The refreshed space includes a wellness room, soft seating areas, an individual focus room, and quiet zones that support well-being and mental clarity.

5. Space Shift

As organizations reduce real estate and continue flexible work policies, every square foot must work smarter. The Fargo studio blends traditional workstations with lounge zones and retreat spaces-showing how offices can flex to meet hybrid demands. More Human From an espresso machine to intentional hospitality touches, the studio is designed to feel welcoming. It’s not just about productivity: it’s about making people feel like they belong.

Meet the People Behind the Name.

While the space looks new, the people behind it are familiar faces to many in Fargo and St. Cloud.

What it Means For You.

Fluid’s Fargo studio is a blueprint-it showcases how spaces where people connect in industries like education, healthcare and multifamily housing are evolving.

Whether you’re relocating, expanding, or simply reimagining how your team uses space, the team at Fluid Interiors Fargo brings a proven track record and a fresh perspective- to help you get there.

Join us at our refreshed studio’s open house on September 11, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, to experience the space firsthand, meet the team, and see for yourself how today’s office can work harder, feel better, and inspire more.

This team has deep roots in Fargo. We're just better equipped now to support our clients than ever before."
